| KIKE CALVO's Leica M9 Workshop |
| As a guest speaker for Leica Akademie, Kike Calvo has convey courses in New York, Washington D.C., for institutions such as The School of Visual Arts. As photographer, Leica M9 is one of his favorite tools, right at the time he comes in his articles. This camera has done most of his ones, to the travels section of the New York Times. In 2011 Leica chose one of its pieces to collectors, so as to the unlimited edition of its printed calendars in Germany. Objective This workshop is led to present and prospective M9 owners. During the day we will explore the instructions of the camera and will study different kind of available lenses for it itself. This is the smallest, full frame, interchangeable lenses, camera in the world. Course load 8 hours Topics • Introduction to the M-system • Rangefinder cameras • First steps with Leica M9 • Hyperfocal distance • Lenses • History of photography.The greatest masters of Leica • Photography basics. Composition and speed • Shooting session • Portfolio Review What to bring to the workshop • Leica M9 or M8 • Charged batteries • One USB flash drive with some pictures done by us. • A memory card or flash card • A laptop with charged battery plus charger. • Download equipments (cable, reader and so forth) • Notebook and pen • A smile! • If you do not count with the camera, but you want to attend the workshop so as to operate it, as an occasional student, just contact kike. There is another chance to attend it with other type of cameras or renting one from Leica according the workroom.
